Wii Like to Play!

Who would have ever thought that technology would catch up with the idea of getting people off the couch and playing games with the family all while getting a workout? Well finally it has, the Nintendo Wii. Sounds too much like an advertisement doesn't it? Well this past weekend we had some of our friends over for a time of relaxation and friendly competition with Wii Sports. I am ashamed to say this, but now it's Friday, almost a week later, and I am still sore from playing so hard against a machine!

The coolest thing to me though is the fitness test that you can take that will show your Wii fitness age. Well, I had the privilege of allowing my wife try this first so that I could get an idea of all that is required to past the test successfully. After bowling a few frames, hitting a home run or two and playing a fast paced game of tennis, she scored a 62. Not too bad for a 30 year old. So it was my turn, I started out pretty well and then it came time for the bowling. I must say that I did better than I thought I might. Your score is 30, it said. I couldn't believe it. A 33 year old scoring less than his actual age. Unbelievable! Oh, but Michaellynn wasn't finished yet, she was determined to get a better score. So again she put her skills to the test. Your score is ...... 62, again. Needless to say we are going to have to buy a Wii (when we can afford one) just for her to get a better fitness score. Thank you Jason and Angela for bringing the competition back into our marriage! Here are a few pics from our Wii experience:

Valentines Parties

Here are some pictures of all of our Valentines festivities. I had no idea that Valentines Day had become such an ordeal! It was still fun though, and I think we are all still hyped up on Chocolate and sugar from the last two days! We will probably crash at some point this weekend! We have Bryce's Upward game tomorrow and I think (hope) that I am actually getting a date night with my husband tonight! Have a good weekend!

Here is proof that I actually was slightly domestic on Wednesday!

Here is Melia in her Wednesday night Valentine's outfit.

Bryce with his "Sparks" class having their party.

Brant with his "Puggles" class. (He and his best bud Caleb are such hams!)

Tired

Now that is tired!
This is how Melia fell asleep this morning watching a movie. (Notice the pop-tart she was still holding.) She has been sick and had fever for about 3 and a half days. The fever broke yesterday, but now she has a rash from it. She is also cutting a lot of teeth. I think she has three molars and some other small ones trying to come it at the same time. That could be why she is still not quite herself yet! Hopefully by tomorrow things will get easier for her.
Well, things are busy as normal for us! I think we stay extremely busy from now until the end of the summer! (April is not too bad, but the other months are crammed full of stuff!) The kids have Valentine's Day parties tonight and tomorrow, so I will have to try and get some pictures up of that. Bryce has another Upward game this weekend. He recieved the blue star last week which is for great effort. He really is doing good considering he is probably the shortest one out there. He is definately learning how to handle the ball! I am being domestic today, so I have to go and bake brownies and a cake (from a box) for the teens party tonight! I am however, going to make homeade icing! Yum!!!

Our Weekend - Crazy Tuesday!

Okay, so today's post is going to be really long!!! We had a really good weekend, but very busy! Bryce had his second Upward game on Saturday and his team did really well. He made two shots and played really well on defense. He received a gray star which is for good defense. After the game he was able to go off with his friend Josh and have some fun for the afternoon! The rest of us went to Uncle Ralph and Aunt Bebbie's house and played cards and cooked out! It was a lot of fun as always when we are with our family!

Sunday was an extremely busy day. We had a regular church morning but in the afternoon we had to get ready for a soup and sandwich dinner for that night. I came home and spent the afternoon cooking pies and chicken and rice soup. The dinner was a lot of fun and it was also a fundraiser for one of our teens that is going to Japan this summer on a missions trip. We were able to raise quite a bit of money for him which was very exciting!

Monday was a typical day with bank, post office and grocery store visits. We started a new Women's Bible Study at church last night as well. We are doing Beth Moore's Stepping Up. It is a seven week study and looks like it is going to be very good!

On to crazy Tuesday! I had to go and help with crafts this morning in Bryce's class. I took Melia with me while Brant went to MMO. She normally does really well and will play in her stroller, eat crackers and walk around watching us help the kids with their crafts. Well, things were going as normal until I looked up to check on her and she was gone. At first I didn't panic and just looked around for her. She was no where to be seen. She wasn't in any other moms laps (there were quite a few classes doing crafts in the cafeteria), she wasn't in the bathrooms, kitchen or the Kindergarten classroom. At this point I started to get a little concerned and asked some of the other moms and teachers to help me look. One of the teacher assistant's asked me if I thought she could have gone upstairs. I said no, because I didn't think she was brave enough to go up them, plus I had already looked up the first flight and didn't see her. Well, the assistant said that she would go up and check anyway while we still looked downstairs. A few minutes later she came up to me and said that she found Melia in Bryce's classroom. SHE WENT UP TWO FLIGHTS OF STAIRS AND DOWN THE HALL TO BRYCE'S ROOM ALL BY HERSELF! I am soooooo glad she wasn't hurt. She is way to brave already. I wasn't sure whether to be mad at her or excited at what a smart child she is. She did scare me to death (but how do you tell a 16 month old that and expect them to understand?) but she was also really smart to know exactly how to get to Bryce's classroom all by herself! I do believe that even after two brothers that she is going to be quite the adventure to raise!! We may need extra prayer!!!!! Well she is climbing again (this time we are at home and it is only a chair) so I better go! Here are some pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

Here is Melia with her new boots on that Mema bought. She LOVED them!

Here is Bryce just as his game is about to start!
